/ 8m - m THE JOSEPH BIGHEAD BAND OF INDIANS By-law No. 1.0 Being a by-law respecting the preservation of wildlife WHEREAS Section 81 (o) and (r) of the Indian Act empowers the Council of a Band of Indians to enact by-laws respecting the preservation, protection and management of wildlife and the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Joseph Bighead Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof as follows: 1. (a) Council11 means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act, of the Joseph Bighead Band of Indians in the Province of Saskatchewan; (b) "Reserve1* means that tract of land, the legal title to which is vested in Her Majesty, that has been set apart by Her Majesty for the use and benefit of the Joseph Bighead Band of Indians, and known as the Joseph Bighead Indian Reserve No, 124; (c) "Hunt" means and includes to hunt, snare, trap, shoot, take, or other­ wise destroy or worry any species of animal or game, and (d) "Member of the Band" means a person whose name appears on the band list for the Joseph Bighead Band of Indians, or who is entitled to have his name appear on that list. 2. No person, other than a member of the band, shall camp, hunt or gather berries within that part of the Reserve designated restricted and shaded on the plan of the Reserve attached hereto and marked Appendix fA*, which appendix is deemed to be and form part of this by-law. 3. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence, and shall be liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding $100.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days, or to both fine and imprisonment.
