THE SPANISH RIVER BAND OF OJIBWAYS BY-LAW NO. 77-08-11 A by Law for environmental protection of Water Sources. Whereas paragraphs (a) (1) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empowers the Council. And whereas it is deemed to be expedient for the Welfare of the Band Members who will be serviced by the water sources of Big La Cloche Lake and Little La Cloche Lake. Now therefore the Council of the Spanish River Band Of Ojibways enacts as a by-law the following: No houses or additional roads will be built within two hundred (200) feet of the two Lakes , with the exception of Band Council approved access roads for the public. Any person who violates any provision of this by-law shall be guilty of an offense and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
