AND WHEREAS the Council of the Buctouche Mic Mac Band feels that the By-Law needs to be amended to reflect an extended meaning of the term “officer” to include Animal Control and Protection Officers. AND WHEREAS The By-Law needs to be amended to reflect a further penalty preventing a person from any future ownership of a pet if that person is found guilty of Cruelty to Animals, by a Court of Law. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED AT A MEETING DULY CONVENED that the Council of the Buctouche Mic Mac Band agree to the following changes be made to By-law No. 03 and to take effect immediately upon the signing of this BCR, as follows: To change the definition from: l.(f) “Officer”: means every peace officer being a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police;” To read as follows: l.(f) “Officer”: means every peace officer being a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police; a member of the New Brunswick SPCA; or a member of the Kent County Animal Rescue. To add the following sub-section to Section 7.
