BE IT ENACTED as a By-law o f the Walpole Island Band o f Indians as fo llo w s 1. There s h a ll bp a F ire In sp e cto r fo r the Walpole Island Indian R eserve, who s h a ll be appointed from time to time by By-law or R esolution o f the Council o f the W alpole Is lan d Band o f Ird ia n s . 2 . The said F ire In sp e cto r sh a ll have the r igh t to enter onto and in sp ect a l l prem ises and bu ild in g s on Walpole Is la n d Indian Reserve from time to tim e, and at a l l reasonable tim es he may deem exped ient. 3 . The said ^ ire In sp e cto r sh a ll have the r igh t to requ ire the abatement o f any nuisance co n s titu t in g a f i r e danger at anv p lace on the Walpole Is lan d Indian R eserve. 4 . The said ^ ire In sp e cto r s h a ll , from time to tim e, i*epor.t to the C ouncil o f the Walpole Is lan d Band o f Indians as requ ired , on h is a c t iv i t i e s and shall present to sa id C ouncil recommendations as to steps to be taken with respect to use o f b u ild in g s , and with resp ect to p reserva tion o f fu r-h ea rin g anim als, f is h and other game on the R eserve, and x^ith respect to oth^r d esira b le items concerning p réservâ tion o f ovoperty . 5. There sh a ll be a F ire Department on the Walpole Is lan d Indian R eserve, co n s is t in g o f the Chine and such oth er persons as may from time to time be designated by r e s o lu tio n o r By-law o f the C ouncil o f the W alpole Is lan d Rand o f Indians. 6. M l persons appointed to said F ire Department sh a ll come under the ju r is d ic t io n o f the C h ief th e r e o f, and s h a ll he under th is supervision and d ir e c t io n . 7. The C h ief o f the F ire Department sh a ll prepare and nres°nt to the C ouncil o f the Walpole Is lan d Band o f In dians, such regu la tion s as may seem to him exped ient, and sh a ll pass on fu rth er recommendations with respect th ere to , from time to ti-^e, as may be requ ired , but no such regu la tion s sh a ll be e f f e c t iv e unlêss and u n t il adooted bv sa id C ou n cil. j .
