The Shawanaga Band of Indians By -law 17:176 Being a By-law to provide for the regulation of Traf Law and Order; Local Works; Trespassing; Penalty; That the Council of the Shawanaga Band of Ojibway Indians at its meeting of July 30, 1976, hereby makes the following by-law pursuant to Section 81 of the Indian Act and paragraphs (b) (c) (f) (p) and (V) of this Section: 1/ In this By-law, (a) "Band" shall mean the Shawanaga Band of Ohibways. (b) "Band member" shall mean a member of the Shawanaga Band of Ojibways. (c) "Road" shall mean any roadway on the Reservation.. (d) "Reservation" shall mean those tracts of land known as Shawanaga Indian Reserves 17, 17A, and 17B. (e) "Sign" or "Traffic Signs" means a sign, warning, marking, or other device for the guidance or direction of persons using the roads. 2/ (a) The Council shall, by resolution, authorize the placing of all traffic signs and the resolution shall specify the location of the sign. (b) The Band Administrator shall place and maintain, or cause to be placed and maintained, the signs authorized by the Council and shall remove or cause to be removed, signs, which are not authorized by the Council. 3/ No person shall interfere with or attempt to interfere with the placement or maintenance of any authorize traffic sign. 4/ No person shall remove, deface, obliterate, or alter or attempt to remove, deface, obliterate or alter or in any manner interfere with any sign lawfully placed on a road.
t The Shawanage Band of Indians By-law 17:176 Being a By-law to provide for the regulation of Traffic; Law and Order; Lacal Works; Trespassing; Penalty; 5/ No person shall operate a vehicle on a road at a rate of speed in excess of thirty miles per hour. 6/ The roads shall be private roads intended for the use of Band members, their invitees and licensees. Members of the Public have no right to enter the Reservation or to use the roads without the consent and authorization of the Council of the Band: or a Band member. 7/ The owner of any motor vehicle that is operated on the roads shall ensure that the vehicle and the person operating it are insured against property damage and personel liability-8/ The requirements of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with respect to license plates shall have no application ta vehicles or person on the roads. 9/ That part of the roads marked in blue on the attached diagram (A) shall be closed to all traffic from November T5th ta Ray 15th in each year. / or until Band Council deems it necessary.. 10/ A person who violates Sections 3,4,5,6,7, and 9; of this by-Taw is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not more that one hundred dollars, or ta- imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or to both fine and imprisonment-
