THE ST. REGIS BAND OF INDIANS By-Law 10(a)-73 <3 ° Being a by-law respecting the Regulation of Traffic (amends By-Law 10-72) WHEREAS paragraph (b) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council of an Indian Band to make by-laws respecting the Regulation of Traffic and the imposition of a fine for violation of any by-laws made under that section; AND WHEREAS the Council of the St. Regis Band of Indians did enact by-law number 10-72 respecting the Regulation of Traffic; AND WHEREAS the said Council deems it to be expedient and in the best interest of the residents of the St. Regis Indian Reserve to amend the said by-law; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the St. Regis Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof as follows: 1. Section 4 of by-law 10-72 be and the same is hereby amended by deleting the word "Tractor" in the second line thereof and inserting in lieu thereof the word "Snowmobile so that the said section shall read; 4. "Vehicles meaas any wagon, cart, motor-car, motor-truck, trailer, motorcycle, traction engine, snowmobiles, road-making machinery or other conveyance that is driven, propelled or drawn by any kind of power. 2. Section 5 of by-law 10-72 be and the same is hereby amended by adding the words "Quebec Provincial Police, Ontario Provincial Police, in the 2nd line thereof and that the said section shall read: 5. "The driver of any vehicle shall bring such vehicle to a full stop when ordered by an Indian Constable, R.C.M.P., Q.P.P., O.P.P., Constable authorized by the Akwesasne Indian Band Council to enforce these regulations, and shall obey all directions issued by such authorized person in respect of the routing or control of traffic, including the parking of vehicles."
