( HIAWATHA INDIAN RESERVE -J rU x jïS i) ; f ^ / 7 ^ BY-LAW NUMBER 7 Being a by-law respecting the construction, additions and repair of dwellings and buildings on the Hiawatha Indian Reserve No. 36. Whereas paragraphs (L) and (R) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council to make by-laws respecting the regulation of construction of buildings and the imposition of a fine for violation of any by-law made under that section; And Whereas it is deemed necessary to control buildings, including leased areas as of the date this by-law comes into effect. 1. Now therefore the Council of the Hiawatha Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following: (a) No construction, addition or outside repair may be made to any reserve dwelling, building, without first receiving a written permit from the Administrator of our Band. (b) The Council of our Band to establish building permit fees by Band Council Resolution which may be amended at anytime by Band Council Resolution and these fees to be collected by the Band Administrator before a permit will be issued. (c) Band Members must also obtain a permit, but a fee will not be attached. 2. Any persons who violates this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on sunmary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred ($100.00) dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days or both fine and imprisonment. 3.
