EAGLE LAKE BAND BY-LAW NO. 6-84 This By-law may be cited as The Construction By-law. This By-law is made pursuant to paragraph (h) and (r) of section 81 of the Indian Act. In this By-law: (1) MBuilding,f means any structure erected by the Band or by an individual member for the purpose of a dwelling, store or shed. (2) "Occupied land" means (I) Any parcel of land that is held under lease or rent. (II) Lots set aside by the Council for band projects or (III) Any land that is used by an individual Band Member. No person shall construct or attempt to construct a building on any occupied land without the occupants written permission. No building shall be erected within the boundaries of the Eagle Lake Indian Reserve without proper planning and in consultation with the Council of the Band. No person shall repair to use or attempt to repair in use a vacant house without the written consent of the owner and in construction with the Band Council. Violators of this By-law shall be guilty of an offense and shall be liable on Summary Conviction to a fine not exceeding $100.00 or to imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or to both find and imprisonment.
