The Chief and Council of the Couchiching Indian Reserve enacts as follows: 1. This By-law may be referred to as "The Dog By-law". 2. All dogs, within the area of the Couchiching Indian Reserve, must carry an identification tag within one (1) week of the coming into effect of this By-law. 3. The Couchiching Band Constables will give out identification tags and maintain registry books for any dog within the Couchiching Indian Reserve area. 4. A household or family will obtain an identification tage from the Couchiching Band Con stables within one (1) week of acquiring a dog. 5. No household will be permitted to have more than two ( 2 ) dogs. 6. Dogs are to be tied at all times, with the exception of times when they are on a leash and under the control of the owner. 7. Owners of dogs found at large will be given one warning by the Couchiching Band Constables to secure their dog or dogs. 8. Couchiching Band Constables will be responsible for disposing of any dog or dogs found running at large after one warning has already been given to the owner. 9. Dogs that are kept outdoors must be provided with a proper shelter. 10. Households acquiring female dogs must have the animal spayed. 11. Any dog who bites or attacks a person, within the Couchiching Indian Reserve area, will be destroyed by the Couchiching Band Constables. This does not include those animals who are confined in their owners' yard. A quorum for this Bande 12.
