CHIPPEWAS OF MNJIKANING FIRST NATION Being a Band within the meaning o f the Indian Act A PPOINTM ENT O F DEPUTY FIRE C H IEF BY-LAW BY-LAW NO. 06-06 Enacted on the 8th day o f August, 2006. W HEREAS the Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation has and recognizes its inherent right o f self-government and jurisdiction to pass laws and powers, and its authority pursuant to the Indian Act to create by-laws providing for the health and safety o f the residents on and visitors to the Mnjikaning First Nation Territory; AND W HEREAS the Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation has established a professional fire and rescue service to provide fire protection and prevention services within the First Nation; AND W HEREAS the Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation Chief and Council have enacted a Mnjikaning Fire Rescue Service Establishing and Regulating By-Law No. 06-04, enacted on the 8th day o f August, 2006, which sets out the duties and responsibilities o f the Deputy Fire Chief; AND W HEREAS Chief and Council appointed Barry Denne as Deputy Fire Chief o f Mnjikaning Fire Rescue Service at duly convened meetings on July 12 and 18, 1996, by way o f Motion #277, effective July 15, 1996; NOW TH EREFO R E the Chief and Council o f the Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation hereby enacts as follows: SHORT TITLE 1. This By-Law may be cited as the Appointment o f Deputy Fire Chief By-Law”. APPOINTM ENT O F FIR E C H IEF 2. Further to the Mnjikaning Fire Rescue Service Establishing & Regulating By-Law No. 06-04, Chief and Council o f Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation hereby affirms the appointment o f Barry Denne as Deputy Fire Chief o f the Mnjikaning Fire Rescue Service to serve until such time as this By-Law is rescinded. THIS BY-LAW IS HEREBY made at a duly convened meeting o f the Chief and Council o f the Chippewas o f Mnjikaning First Nation this 8th day o f August, 2006. Voting in favour o f the By-Law are the following members o f Chief and Council: Chief and Council Signatures of Approval Being the majority o f those members o f the Council o f the Chippewas of Mnjikaning First Nation present at the aforesaid meeting o f Chief and Council. The quorum o f Chief and Council is four members.
