B Y LAW NO 7 (Motion No. 672, Dated March 21, 1989) ( 1 ) In this By-Law: (a) "At Large" shall mean any dog found not under the immediate control of it's owner, or competent or responsible person, or not on the owner's property or apparently unattended. (b) "Immediate Control" means, penned, tied, leashed or contained in owners yard." (c) "Owners" shall be deemed to be anyone over the age of eighteen years at the property where the dog appears to belong, and the Burden of Proof shall be on this person; that they are not the owner. Owns and Owned shall have a corresponding meaning. (2) The Chippewas of Nawash Band Council is authorized to appoint a Canine Control Officer and issue such licenses as they deem desirable from time to time. (3) No person shall allow a dog to wander at large within the limits of Cape Croker Reserve. (4) Every dog owner shall within 30 days of the passing of this by-law. apply at the Cape Croker Administration Office/Cape Croker Police for the purpose of obtaining a Dog License and the Burden of Proof shall be on the owner that they have such a license. (5) Every dog over the age of 12 weeks shall be licensed and the owner shall keep the dog tag securely fixed on the dog at all times. (6 ) (a) Each dog, male shall be licensed for a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) to cover the period of one calendar year or a portion thereof. (b) A female spayed dog licence fee shall be a sum of ten dollars ($10.00) per year-(c) A female dog not spayed, the licence fee shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00) for the first female and each additional female dog not spayed, the licence fee shall be twenty- five dollars ($25.00).
BYLAW NO - 7 2 (7) Any person violating any of the provisions of this By-law shall be subject to a penalty of not more than Twenty-five dollars ($25-00) for every subsequent offence exclusion of costs-(8) Where a penalty is provided in this By-law for a first or subsequent offence the words "first" or "subsequent" shall relate only to of­ fenses committed in a twelve month period-"CERTIFIED TRUE COPY" Bruce District Office, P.
