Moved by Mrs. Flora Ritchie, seconded by Mrs. Ruth Roote, that we the Council of the Saugeen Band of Indians at a meeting held this 22nd day of September 1975, at the Saugeen Indian Reserve # 29» make the following by-law pursuant to Paragraphs (d) and (r) of Section Si of the Indian Act: By-Lav/ No. 14, A by-law to provide for the regulation of the carrying of fire arms, B.B. guns and pellet guns and archery equipment, within the Saugeen Indian Reserve ff 29 and Chiefs Point if 2B or the Saugeen Hunting Grounds. (a) No person other than a Band Member or persons in the company of a Band Member shall carry a fire arm, B.B. guns, pellet guns or archery equipment, within the Saugee n Indian Reserve # 29 and the Chiefs Point Reserve if 2S or on the Hunting Grounds. (b) No person shall, upon any street or road within the Saugeen Indian Reserve # 29 and Chiefs Point Reserve # 2S, or Hunting Grounds, discharge firearms, B.B. guns, pellet guns or archery equipment other than in those described by Band Council Resolution. (c) Any person who violates the provisions of this by-lav; shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 100 dollars or to imprisonment not exceeding 30 days, or both fine and imprisonment.
