soft/? 8-99̂ BIG GRASSY BAND BY-LAW NO. 3-78 (1) This By-law may be cited as The Firearms By-law. (?) This By-law is made pursuant to paragraph (c), (d) and (r) of section 81 of the Indian Act. (3) The purpose of this by-law is to provide for the regulation of the carrying and discharge of firearms, B.B. guns, and pellet guns upon a Reserve of Big Grassy Band, or any of the Reserves, or any part or parts thereof, in order to ensure the safety and well­ being of the inhabitants. (4) The Big Grassy Band Council hereby enacts the following as a by-law: (1) No intoxicated person shall, within the boundaries of a Reserve of the Big Grassy Band, carry or attempt to carry or discharge or attempt to discharge a firearm, B.B. gun or pellet gun. (?) No person shall carry, discharge, or have in his possession a firearm, B.B. gun, or pellet gun within a Reserve of Big Grassy Band unless it is unloaded and encased, between one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour before sunrise of any day. (5) Violators of this By-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on Summary Conviction to a fine not exceeding $ 100 or to imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or to both fine and imprisonment.
