By-Law #8 A by-law to provide for the protection against and prevention of trespassing of domestic animals and generally for providing regulations for the running at large of animals under paragraph 81 (1) (E) of the Indian Act. Defini ti ons: "Animal" means a domestic animal and includes any ass, boar, bull, bullock, ca l f , cow, goat, heifer, horse, jackass, lamb, mule, ox, pig, ram, sheep, sow or sta ll ion . "Council" means a council of the Chippewas of Georgina Island F ir s t Nation. "Reserve" means Chippewas of Georgina Island F ir s t Nation Reserve //33 'Running at Large" means an animal that is off the premises of i t s owner and is not undr the immediate, continuous, and effective control of some person. A) Each owner shall be responsibe for the fencing in of their own animals and keeping them from running at large. Ary person who violates any of the provisions of th is bylaw shall be l iab le an summary conviction of a fine not exceeding one thousand ($1,000.00) or Imprisionment for a term not exceeding th irty (30) days; or both.
