Region Attention: Anita Boscariol By-laws No. 1992.1 and 1992.2 respecting disorderly conduct and nuisances and animal control respectively Please be informed that the above-noted by-laws will come into force on October 26, 1992. I wish to confirm that the by-laws were recorded on September 24, 1992. The forty-day period stipulated in subsection 82(2) of the Indian Act expires on or about Octobar 26. 1992. Accordingly the effective date of the by-law is October 26, 1992. Please note that the Stellaquo Indian Band was notified directly by headquarters on October 13, 1992. Please retain two (2) certified true copies of the original by-laws enclosed for your records and return the originals to the band council. The coming into force of any by-law pursuant to section 82 of the Indian Act is not an expression of opinion by the Minister that the by-law is valid. In the future, may we recommend that you do not pass by-laws directly on the sample by-laws provided to you as guidelines. These are exactly that, guidelines, and should be adapted to meet the specific needs of your community. Additionally, if ever these by-laws were challenged in court, the words SAMPLE that appear on them may lead to confusion. If any further information is required please contact the B.C. Regional Office or Nicole Bilodeau at headquarters who is responsible for your file and can be contacted at 819-997-8233.
