MUSQUEAM INDIAN BAND MULTIPLE SUITE BUILDINGS AMENDMENT NO. 1 BY-LAW This By-Law is made pursuant to Section 81(1)(g), (h), (pi), (q) and (r) of the Indian Act. WHEREAS by a Multiple Suite Buildings By-Law which came into force on March 6, 1990 (the ’’By-Law") the Chief and Council exercised their powers under the said sections of the Indian Act and they now wish to amend the By-Law. NOW THEREFORE the Band Council of the Musqueam Indian Band enacts as a by-law the following: 1. Section 1 of the By-Law is amended by substituting "occupied" for "owned"; 2. Sections 2 and 3 of the By-Law are amended by adding a period after "Zone B" and deleting all the following words; 3. Sections 4 and 5 of the By-Law are deleted and replaced by the following: "Use of Building 4. Use of a multiple suite building located on Zone B shall be in compliance with the conditions of an occupancy permit issued by the Chief and Council of the Band, including conditions as to the form of tenure of the building and the terms of proposed leases to be used in letting the building. "Residence" 5. Residence in a multiple suite building located in Zone B shall be in compliance with the conditions of an occupancy permit issued by the Chief and Council of the Band including conditions as to the form of tenure of the building and the terms of proposed leases to be used in letting the building provided such conditions are in compliance with the "Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms".
4. Section 6 of the By-Law is amended by deleting the words "housing development". THIS BY-LAW shall come into force on the date determined pursuant to Section 82 of the Indian Act.
