R.S.C 1985, c. 1-5 empowers the Couneil of a Band to make By­ laws concerning the observance of law and order and the prevention of disorderly conduct and; THEREFORE the Council of the Kitasoo Indian Band enacts as follows; PART I INTERPRETATION 1. IN THIS BYLAWi (1) "Act" means the Indian Act. R.S.C. 1985, c. 1-5, as amended from time to time; (2) "Band" means the Kitasoo Band; (3} "Bylaw or Bylaws" means all bylaws of the Kitasoo Indian Band currently in force. (4} "Bylaw Enforcement Officer means a person or persons appointed by the band to enforce the Bylaws of the Kitasoo Indian sand. (5} "Council" means the Chief and Council of the Kitasoo Indian Band chosen and elected in accordance with the election provisions of section 74 of the Act. (6) "Reserve" means a tract of land, the legal title to which is vested in Her Majesty, that has been set apart by Her

PART II BYLAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER 2. council may appoint a Bylaw Enforcement officer to enforce the Bylaws of the Band. 1. The Bylaw enforcement officer shall have the powers of a Peace Officer for the purposes of enforcing all Band Bylaws. 4. The Bylaw enforcement officer shall have the authority and jurisdiction of a Bylaw Enforcement Officer as is defined in any existing Bylaw. PART XII ADMINISTRATION 5. The Bylaw Enforcement Officer shall report directly to the Council or such other person or persons which Council may designate from time to time as the Council's duly authorized representative for the purposes of supervising and Administering any person or persons appointed as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and administering this Bylaw. 6. The Council may make any expenditures which Council deems appropriate for salary/ benefits/ equipment and other costs relating to the administration and implementation of this Bylaw.K t l n; t a K s t o S o « lU B M a n L d .
