c CAMPBELL RIVER DISTRICT NIMPKISH BAND BYLAWS The Council of the Nimpkish Band of Indians at a meeting held O c ^ C h ^ L f itfh 1982 makes the following by-law pursuant to paragraph (b) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act. By-law No. 23 A By-law to provide traffic regulations within the Nimpkish Indian Reserves No.l and No. LA in the Province of British Columbia. 1. No person shall excavate, cause a nuisance upon, encumber, obstruct, injure, foul or otherwise damage any portion of a Band road or other public place whether on, in, over or under such a Band road or public place, except under such terms and conditions as may be imposed by Council. 2. No person shall drive or operate a vehicle at a greater speed than 20 miles per hour on any Band road or portion of Band road within the boundaries of Nimpkish Indian reserve No.l and No.lA. 3. Persons under the age of 16 will be prohibited from operating a motorcycle or any motor vehicle within the boundaries of Nimpkish Indian Reserve No.l and No. IA. except those areas designated by the Council. 4. No person shall stop, park a vehicle in a place in contravention of a traffic control device that gives notice of stopping, standing or parking is there prohibited or restricted. 5. All persons must bring their vehicles to a full stop at "STOP" signs. 6. No persons shall store, park, keep or leave standing any motor vehicle or trailer, unlicensed for the current year under the "Motor Vehicle Act", upon any road, wharf parking area, or other public place. 7. No person shall park or leave standing any vehicle on the approach to, or on the wharfhead of, the Nimpkish Breakwater, unless otherwise specified, except for the purpose of loading or unloading. 8. The Public Works Maintenance Supervisor may, from time to time as required, cause signs to be erected in the streets of the Nimpkish Reserve to prohibit the parking, and requiring the removal of any vehicle encumbering the removal of snow or other works upon such streets. 9. No person shall park or leave any vehicle or other object on a street within the boundaries of the Nimpkish Reserve in contravention of this by-law or so as to obstruct the free use of any street on the Nimpkish Reserve. 10. Any person violating the said By-law will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $100.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days or both.
