"CERTIFIED" GITSEGUKLA BAND OF INDIANS BY-LAW NUMBER 90-1 BEING A BY-LAW RESPECTING TRESPASS WHEREAS Section 81 (1) (p) of the Indian Act, R.S.C make a by-law for the removal and punishment of the persons trespassing upon the reserve or frequenting the reserve for prohibited purposes; AND WHEREAS the Band Council deems it in the best interests and welfare of the Gitsegukla Village to prevent persons trespassing on the reserve or frequenting the reserve for prohibited purposes; THEREFORE the Gitsegukla Band Council hereby enacts as follows: No person shall trespass upon the reserve and no person shall frequent the reserve for any purpose prohibited by the Band Council or by law. Any person found trespassing or frequenting the reserve as described
"CERTIFIED" above and who has been asked by a Band councillor or chief to leave the reserve but refuses or neglects to do so may be enjoined from remaining or entering upon the reserve by the Band Council and shall be liable to a fine not exceeding $500.00; the amount of such fine to be determined by the Band Council. APPROVED and passed at a meeting of the Gitsegukla Band Council, duly convened, this 17 day of August, 1990.
