j,,, THE BELLA BELLA BAND OF INDIANS By-law 13.74 Being a by-law to prohibit the discharging of firearms, air guns, and spring gun3 . WHEREAS paragraphs (c), (d), (q), and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council of a Band to make by-laws respecting the observances of law and order, the prevention of disorderly conduct, and the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient for the . teral welfare of the inhabitants of the Bella Bella Reserve regulate the use' of guns; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Bella Bella Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following: 1. In this by-law, (a) 00101011** means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act, of the Bella Bella Band of Indians; (b) ‘‘Reserve** means the tract of land set apart by Her Majesty within the definition of the Indian Act, for the use and benefit of the Bella Bella Band of Indians known as Bella Bella Indian Reserve. 2. No person shall discharge any firearm, rifle, shotgun, air gun, air rifle, air pistol or spring gun on the Reserve, unless such discharge is approved by a Resolution of Council. 3. Any person violating this by-law shall be guilty of an offense arid shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
