AD 19 DAY - JO U R MONT H - MOIS HEREBY RESOLVE; :de, p a r LES PRESENTES: PROHIBITION OF ALCOHOL ON HAY RIVER RESERVE WHEREAS the General Band Meeting was held on May 18, 1988 in the Hay River Dene Band Reserve Community Hall, for the purpose of discussing Prohibition on the Hay River Reserve for the period of July 1st to July 12th, 1988 WHEREAS there is a need to conduct a Dene National Assembly on the Reserve prohibiting the sale or use of intoxicants during the Assembly. WHEREAS the majority of the Band Members over 18 voted unanimously for the prohibition of liquor during the period of July 1st to July 12, 1988 on the Hay River Dene Band Reserve. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED A Band By-Law is hereby asserted to by the Hay River Dene Band Council prohibiting the use of intoxicants as per Section 85.1 of the Indian Act for the period of July 1st to July 12, 1988 only. The By-Law prohibiting the use of intoxicants are: a) Prohibiting the sale, barter, supply or manufacture of intoxicants on the Reserve of the Hay River Dene Band. b) Prohibiting any person from being intoxicated on the Reserve of the Hay River Dene Band.
