By-law #1991.2 of the Poplar River First Nation respecting Residency. WHEREAS the Council of the Poplar River First Nation desires to establish a By-law governing the residence of First Nation members and other persons on the reserve; and WHEREAS the Council of the First Nation is empowered to make a By -law governing the residence of First Nation members and other persons on the reserve, and any matter ancillary thereto and the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof pursuant to paragraphs 81(1) (p.l), (q) and (r) of the Indian Act. Now therefore the Council of the Poplar River First Nation hereby enacts as a By-law thereof as follows: (i) A visitor attending at the Poplar River First Nation for more than one (1) week must report to the Poplar River First Nation office in order to have Chief and Council authorization for a request of an extended visit or to take up residence at the Poplar River Indian reserve;and (ii) The visitor must be a relative to a person who already has residence on the Poplar River Indian reserve; (iii) A visitor who violates any by-law or causes a disturbance in the community shall be asked to vacate within 24 hours of such disturbance coming to the attention of Chief and Council; (iv) A disturbance includes any activity, action or event caused by a person which in the opinion of Chief and Council interferes with the normal activités of the Poplar River First Nation. AND WHEREAS the violation of By-law #1991.2 upon summary conviction, may result in the impostion of a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) or a term of imprisonment not exceeding five days (5), or both, Be it known that this By-law entitled "Residency" is hereby enacted as By-law #1991.2 by the Council of the Poplar River First Nation of Indians at a duly convened meeting of the said Council held on the day of , 1991. The By-law is consented to by the following members of the Council :

A quorum of the First Nation Council is set at 5 members.
