THE PAS BAND OF INDIANS By-law _5 Being a by-law restricting the use of slingshots and bows and arrows in residential areas on The Pas Reserve Block 21E WHEREAS paragraphs (c) and (d) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council of an Indian Band to make by-laws respecting law and order and to impose a penalty for the violcation thereof; AND WHEREAS it is deemed to be expedient to restrict the use of slingshots and bows and arrows for the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of The Pas Reserve ; NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Pas Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following: 1. In this by-law, (a) "Council" means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act, of The Pas Band of Indians; (b) "reserve" means the tract of land set apart by Her Majesty within the definition of the Indian Act, for the use and benefit of The Pas Band of Indians known as The Pas Reserve Block 21E; (c) "slingshot" means an instrument, commercially made or otherwise, used for throwing stones or other objects; and (d) "bow and arrow" means a bow used to propel an arrow which is a long sharp pointed object, all of which may be commercially or self made. 2. The use of slingshots and bows and arrows is prohibited in residential areas on The Pas Reserve Block 21E. 3. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and the Special Constables will confiscate any slingshots or bows and arrows being used in residential areas on The Pas Reserve Block 2IE. \
