• a» « * * • * » * • V| * J U U i/ U J U I > U U A U T V IT -fjjf touncil of the Buffalo Point Band Members at a meeting held this 7 day of July, 1981 hereby enacts bylaw No. 10-81 to provide for the regulation of Hawkers and Peddlers within the boundaries of Buffalo Point Reserve. Whereas, paragraphs (n) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empowers the Council of a Band to make a bylaws respecting the regulation of the conduct and activities of Hawkers and Peddlers and the imposition of a penalty for a violation thereof, and, Whereas, it is deemed necessary to limit and control the activities of Hawkers and Peddlers for the benefit and welfare of the inhabitants of the Buffalo Point Reserve. No therefore, the Council of the Buffalo Point Band Members enacts as a bylaw thereof, the following: 1. In the by law, (a) Council" means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act of the Buffalo Point Band Members; (b) "Reserve" means the tract of land set apart by Her Majesty within the definition of the Indian Act, for the use and benefit of the Buffalo Point Band Members known as the Buffalo Point Reserve. (c) "Vehicle" means any conveyance that is driven, propelled, or drawn by and kind of power. (d) "Hawker § Peddler" means a person who swaps, traffics, buys, sells, barters, trades, or deal in Wares or Merchandise and solicits his/her services. 2. No Hawker, Peddler or person shall enter upon the Buffalo Pointfeserve to go from place to place or to any house on any vehicle to buy, sell, trade, or deal in Wares or Merchandise without the written consent of the Council. 3. Except as may be authorized in writing by the Council, no person shall on the Reserve, (a) sell or offer for sale any article, thing or service or expose any article or thing which may be for sale ast some future time; or (b) erect any booth, tent, stall or other erection for any purpose whatsoever; or (c) display or permit to be displayed any poster, bill or notice in relation to the sale of any article, thing or service. 4. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this bylaw shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on a summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
