The Council of the White Bear Band of Indians at a meeting held on October 4 » 1965, makes the following By-law pursuant to paragraphs (o) and (r) of Section 80 of the Indian Act. By-law No. 3A A By-law to provide for the preservation, protection and management of fish in the White Bear Indian Reserve No. 70, in the Province of Saskatchewan. 1. No person other than a member of the Band shall be permitted to fish in the Reserve without first obtaining a written permit to do so from the person authorized by the Council to grant such permission. 2. Permits may be obtained only on production of a valid and subsisting Saskatchewan Angling License to fish in Provincial waters contiguous to the Reserve. 3. Such permit shall authorize the permittee to fish by angling and shall include spear fishing provided that no underwater breathing equipment is used and may be subject to a fee established from time to time by resolu­ tion of the Council of the Band. 4. No person under authority of such permit shall fish for, take or attempt to take in one day: (a) More than six (6) yellow pickerel (Walleye). (b) More than six (6) pike. (c) A combination of the above species providing his daily total does not exceed a total of six (6) fish. (d) No limit on yellow perch. _• JT -
- 2 -5. No person other than a member of the Band shall retain, keep out of water or have in his possession more than one day*s limit as set out in Section lj of this By-law. 6. The opening date for the fishing season on the reserve for other than a member of the Band will conform to the date set out by the Province. How­ ever, the closing date for the season on the Reserve shall be on and including the 31st day of October each year. 7. The definition of angling, spear fishing, open and closed season, resident and all other matters not specifically mentioned in the by-law shall be as provided in the Fishery Regulations for the Province of Saskatchewan. 8. Any person who violates the provisions of this By-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall on summary convictinn be liable to a fine not exceeding $100.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days or to both fine and imprisonment. 9. Vfi.th the coming into force of this By-law, By-law No. 3 made at a meeting held on March 1, 1965, shall cease to be in force.
