WHEREAS: THE COUNCIL HAS MET IN QUORUM AT A DULY CONVENED COUNCIL MEETING AT GREGOIRE LAKE INDIAN RESERVE ON MARCH 3, 1986. WHEREAS: THE COUNCIL OF THE BAND OF THE FORT MCMURRAY BAND DESIRES TO ENSURE THE PROPER AND ORDERLY CONDUCT OF BUSINESS AND OTHER AFFAIRS OF THE BAND IN ALL PREMISES USED AND OCCUPIED BY THE BAND ON THE FORT MCMURRAY INDIAN RESERVE; AND WHEREAS PURSURANT TO SECTION 81 (c) AND (d) OF THE INDIAN ACT, THE COUNCIL OF THE BAND IS EMPOWERED TO MAKE BY-LAWS FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE OBSERVANCE OF LAW AND ORDER AND THE PREVENTION OF DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND NUISANCES. 1. THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW IS HEREBY APPROVED AND ADOPTED BY MOTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BAND: (a) NO PERSON SHALL DISRUPT THE PROPER AND ORDERLY CONDUCT OF THE BUSINESSES OR AFFAIRS OF THE BAND AT ANY PREMISES USED AND OCCUPIED FOR THE BAND BUSINESS ON THE FORT MCMURRAY INDIAN RESERVE BY PERSISTENT DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR, ABUSIVE, OBSCENE OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE OR OTHER ACTIVITIES WHICH PREVENT THE PROPER CONDUCT OF BAND BUSINESS. 2. PERSONS IN BREACH OF THIS BY-LAW SHALL BE SUMMARILY EXPELLED FROM BAND PREMISES OR MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BAND. FURTHER, SUCH PERSONS SHALL UPON A SUMMARY CONVICTION FOR VIOLATION OF THIS BY-LAW BE LIABLE TO A FINE OF $100.00 OR IMPRISONMENT FOR A TERM OF NOT EXCEEDING 30 DAYS.
