The Council of the Blood Band of Indians at a meeting held on the 1st day of October, 1963, make the following by-law persuent to paragraphs (e), (q) and (r) of Section 80 of the Indian Act. By-Law No. 7. A by-law to provide for the preservation, protection and management of game on the Blood Indian Reserve in the Province of Alberta. 1. In this by-law, (a) "Band" means the Blood Band of Indiansj (b) "Council" means the Council of the Band; (c) "Guide"' means any member of the Band licensed by the Council to guide for the purposes of this, by-law; (d) "Permit" means a permit issued by the Superintendent, Blood Agency or Blood Band Secretary on behalf of the Council for the purpose of this by-law, and (e) "Reserve" means the Blood Indian Reserve. 2. No person other than a member of the Band shall hunt within the boundaries of the Reserve without a permit. 3. A permit shall entitle the person to whom it is issued to hunt ducks and geese only. U. The Council may, from time to time, establish by resolution a fee for the issic.ng of permits. 5. No permit shall be issued to any person Who is not the holder of a valid and subsisting Alberta Provincial hunting license. 6. The Council may cancel any permit, where, in the opinion of thb Council, the holder of such permit has acted in the manner contrary to the best interests of the Band. 7. Open seasins, bag limits, possession limits and any other matters with respect to hunting not provided for in this by-law shall be with repect to ducks and geese as set out in the regulations for the Province of Alberta made under authority of the Migratory Birds Convention Afct

The Chief and Councillors of the Band, Indian constable and any other person or persons named in writing by the Council for the purpose shall be ex-offico officers for the enforsement of this by-law. 9. Any officer for the enforcement of f is by-law may forthwith seize all vame on the Réserve which (A) is found by him in possession of any person, other than a member of the Band, \-r o is not in possession of a permit; or (b) appears to have been taken by some unlawful means; and may briny such game before a police magistrate, stipendiary magistrate or person appointed by the Govornor in Council to be a justice of the peace for of ences under the Indian Act. 10. There a person in convicted of an offence under this by-law, the convicting court or judge may order that any game taken in respect to Ithe offence, is forfeited to Her Majesty for the benefit of the Band, in which case the Council shall distribute or dispose of the game as they see fit. 11. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall on summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding on hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days or both fine and imprisonment.
