SODA CREEK INDIAN BAND BYLAWNO. 1999~TX01 WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83(1) of the Indian Act, the Council of a Band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interest in land including the rights to occupy, possess or use lands within the boundaries of the Reserve and with respect to any matters rising out of or any ancillary to such purpose : ANDWHEREASthe Council of the Soda Creek Indian Band enacted the Soda Creek Indian Band Taxation and Assessment Bylaw on December 23, 1997 ; NOWBE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of the Indian Act and in particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing annual rates of taxation . 1. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the Soda Creek Indian Band 1999 Rates Bylaw. 2. Pursuant to section 24 of the Soda Creek Indian Band Taxation Bylaw, the rates for each class ofproperty shall be in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached, and forms part of the 1999 Rates Bylaw.
