COOK'S FERRY INDIAN BAND BYLAW NO. 2002-TX01 WHEREAS pursuant to the Indian Act, RSC 1985, and specifically paragraph 83(l)(a) of the Indian Act, 1985, c. 1-5, the Council of a Band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interest in land including the rights to occupy, possess or use lands within the boundaries of the Reserve and with respect to any matters arising out of or any ancillary to such purposes ; AND WHEREAS the council of the Cook's Ferry Indian Band enacted the Cook's Ferry Indian Band Taxation and Assessment Bylaw on June 23, 1993. NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 24 ofthe Cook's Ferry Indian Band Taxation Bylaw : I . The rates for each class of property (I through 9) shall be in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached and forms part of the 2002 Rates Bylaw. 2 . The rates for railways (Class 10) shall be in accordance with Schedule "A", which is attached and forms part of the 2002 Rates Bylaw pursuant to the Property Assessment and Taxation Railway Right of Way Regulations, SOR/201-493 . 3 . This bylaw may be cited for all purposes at the Cook's Ferry Indian Band 2002 Rates Bylaw. This bylaw is hereby enacted by the Council of the Cook's Ferry Indian Band at a duly convened meeting held on the ~)~' 1) day of 7 L-Y 2002 .
