Upper Simill~ameen Indian Band BAND COUNCIL RESOLUTION CHRONOLOGICAL NUMBER : 1999/00-12 THE CHIEF AND COUNCIL OF THE UPPER SIMILKAMEEN INDIAN BAND AT KEREMEOS, BRITISH COLUMBIA DATED THIS 30th DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1999 DO HEREBY RESOLVE: BYLAW N0: 99-01 WHEREAS: Pursuant to subsection 83(1)(a) of the Indian Act, R.S .C. 1985, c.I-5, the Council of a band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interest in land, including rights to occupy, possess or use land in a reserve and with respect to any matters rising out of or ancillary to such a purpose; ANDWHEREAS: The Council of the Upper Similkameen Indian Band enacted the Upper Similkameen Property Assessment and Taxation Bylaw on May 7th, 1996 ; NOWBE IT RESOLVED : That the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provision of the Indian Act and in particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing 'annual rates of taxation . 1 . This bylaw may be cited as the Upper Similkameen Indian Band 1999 Rates Bylaw. ~ Pursuant to Section 11 of the Upper Similkameen Indian Band Property Assessment and ~I'axation Bylaw, the tax rates for each class of property shall be in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached, and forms part of the 1999 Rates Bylaw This bylaw is hereby enacted by Council at a duly convened meeting held on the 30th day of September, 1999 . ~ L&. t'wo a 4~.
