The Council of the I LOWER SIMILKAMEEN INDIAN BAND Date of duly convened meeting THE CHIEF AND COUNCIL OF THE LOWER SIMILKAMEEN INDIAN BAND DO HEREBY RESOLVE THAT: WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83(1) (a) of the btdimt Act, R.S.c. 1985, c. 1-5 the Council of the band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of the land or interest in land, including rights to occupy, possess or use land in a reserve, and with respect to any matter arising out of ancillary to such a purpose; with the Lower SimilkameeJI Indian Balld Property Taxation By-law it is necessary for Band Council during each taxation year to enact a By-law establishing, imposing and levying the tax for each separate property class within each separate taxation district; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band enacted the Lower Similknmeell Indian Band Properhj Assessment alld Taxation By-law on August 28, 2002; NOW BE IT RFSOLVED THAT THE FOLLOWING Bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of the Indian Act, and in particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing arumal rates of taxation. 1. This by-law nay be cited for all purposes as the Lower Similkmlleell Illdiml Balld Tax Rates By-law No. 01.2008 2. Pursuant to Section 11 of the Lower Similknmeen Illdiml Balld Properhj Taxation By-law, the tax rate for each class of property shall be in accordance with the rate schedule attached as Schedule II A", which forms part of the AllIuml Tax Rates By-Imu No. 01.2008.
