Minister of Indian Affairs Ministre des Affaires and Northern Development indiennes et du Nord canadier,n Ottawa, Canada K1 A OH4 I, the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, HEREBY APPROVE, pursuant to section 83 of the Indian Act, the following by-law made by the Musqueam Indian Band, in the Province of British Columbia, at a meeting held on the 5th day of May 2003. MUSQUEAM INDIAN BAND BYLAW NO . 2003-01 Musqueam Indian Band Rates Bylaw WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83(1)(a) of the Indian Act, R.S .C . 1985, c .I-5, the council of a band maymake bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interests in land, including rights to occupy, possess or use land in a reserve and with respect to any matters rising out ofor ancillary to such purpose; o AND WHEREAS the Council of the Musqueam Indian Band has duly and properly enacted the Musqueam Indian Band Property Assessment and Taxation Bylaws; NOWBE IT THEREBY RESOLVED that the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions ofthe Indian Act and in particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing annual rates of taxation . ' 1 This bylaw maybe cited for all purposes as the Musqueam Indian Band 2003 Rates Bylaw No. 2003 -O1 . 2. Pursuant to Section 18.1 of the Musqueam Indian Band Property Taxation Bylaw, the tax rates for each class of property shall be in accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached, and forms part of the 2003 Musqueam Indian Band Rates Bylaw No . 2003-01 . SCHEDULE "A" The Council of the Musquearn Indian Band hereby adopts the following taxation rates forthe 2003 taxation year for the following classes of property . COLUMN1 Class of Property as prescribed under Schedule II and Section 18 1 of the Musqueam Indian Band Property Taxation Bylaw Class 1 - Residential Class 2 - Utilities Class 3 - Unmanaged Forest Land 0 Class 4 - Major Industry Class 5 - Light Industry Class 6 - Business and Other Class 7 - Managed Forest Land Class 8 - Recreation/Non-Profit Organization Class 9 - Farm COLUMN2 Rate oftax applied against each $1000 00 of the assessed value of the land and improvements as determmed m accordance with the Musqueam Indian Band Property Taxation Bylaw 6.68200 54.125 50.717 46.106 30.604 0 8 .754 2 198
