Minister of Indian Affairs Ministre des Affaires and Northern Development indiennes et du Nord canadien Ottawa, Canada K 1 A OH4 I, the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, HEREBY APPROVE, pursuant to section 83 of the Indian Act, the following bylaw made by the Musqueam Indian Band, in the Province of British Columbia, at a meeting held on the 26`h day of May, 1998 Musqueam Indian Band Bylaw No. 1998-02 (Rates Bylaw) Dated at Ottawa, Ontario this 10 th day of June, 1998
MUSQUEAA9 INDIAN BAND BYLAw No. 1998-02 Musqueam Indian Band Rates Bylaw WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83(1)(a) of the Indian Act, R.S C 1985, c I-5, the Council of a band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interests m land, including rights to occupy, possess or use land m a reserve and with respect to any matters rising out of or ancillaryto such purpose, AND WHEREAS the Council of the Musqueam Indian Band has duly and properly enacted the Musqueam Indian Band Property Assessment and Taxation Bylaws, NOW BE IT THEREBY RESOLVED that the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of the Indian Act and m particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing annual rates of taxation 1. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the Musqueam Indian Band 1998 Rates Bylaw No 1998-02 2. Pursuant to Section 18 1 of the Musqueam Indian Band Property Taxation Bylaw, the tax rates for each class ofproperty shall be m accordance with Schedule "A" which is attached, and forms part of the 1998 Musqueam Indian Band Rates BylawNo 1998-02 This bylaw is hereby enacted by Council at a duly convened meeting held on the 26th day of May, 1998 ncil-lonre~ -' QL ~4 Co .B'u.-! SCHEDULE"A" The Council of the Musqueam Indian Band hereby adopts the following taxation rates for the 1998 taxation year for the following classes of property COLUMN 1 COLUMN 2 Class of Property as prescribed under Rate of Tax applied against each Schedule II and Section 18.1of the $1,000.00 of the assessed value of the Musqueam Indian Band Property land and improvements as determined in Taxation Bylaw . accordance with the Musqueam Indian Band Property Taxation Bylaw.
