ALEXIS NAKOTA SIOUX NATION BAND COUNCIL RESOLUTION The Council of the Date of duly convened meeting DO HEREBY RESOLVE: WHEREAS a quorum of Chief and Council met at a duly COfIVened meeting on Tuesday, Ai 111, 2006; AND WHEREAS pursuant to the Indian Act and their inherenl right to self-governmew the Chief al'ld Council is empowered to make decisions on behalf of the membership of the Alexis Nakata Sioux Nali AND WHEREAS pursuant to subsec~on 83(1) (a) of the Indian Act, R.S.C. 1985, c.1·5, ; .~ Council of a band may make bylaws for the purpose of laxation for local purposes of tand, or interest in land, I ,eluding rights to occupy, possess or use land in a reserve and with respect to any matlers arising oul of or ancillary to .3uch purpose;. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED thai the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursu"llt to the proV'isions of the Indian Acl and in particular section 83(1} for the purpose of establiShing annual rates of laxation: 1. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation 2006 Tax Rates Bylaw 2. Pursuant to section 5 of the Alexis First Nation Property Tax Bylaw. the rate of lax applied against the assessed value of property for the 2005 tax year shall be: In Reserve No. 133 (,) (b) In Reserve No. 232 (a) This bylaw is hereby enacted by Council at duly convened meeting held on Tuesday.
