LAC LA HACHE BAND - DENE NATION ( REGULATIONS: Disorderly Conduct, Nuisance and Trespass on Band Lands WHEREAS; The primary objective of the Lac La Hache Band is to evolve towards Self-Government on the Band Reserve; and, WHEREAS; The Band Council is obligated and responsible of promoting and preserving the inherent, treaty and other rights and freedom that effect the citizens; and, WHEREAS; The Indian act empowers the band council with the approval of the citizens, to make regulations to prevent disorderly conduct and nuisance on the reserve and removal and punishment of persons trespassing upon the reserve or frequenting the reserve for prescribed purposes; NOW THERE; The Lac La Hache Band are obliged to regulate disorderly conduct, nuisance and trespass on the reserve in accordance with the following: 1. No person shall engage in disorderly conduct or commit a nuisance on the reserve. 2. Any person who is not ordinarily resident on the reserve and who, in the opinion of the Band Council engage in disorderly conduct or commits a nuisance on the reserve may be banned by the Band Council from entering the reserve without a permit issued by the Band Council. 3. The Band Council may declare such ban for any lenght of time as it determines and such a ban may be indefinate. 4. Any ban declared by the Band Council shall be publicized by the placement of notices at conspicuous locations on the reserve. 2
2 5. Any ban declared by the Band Council may be recinded at the General Band meeting called for that pupose. 6. Anyone determined by the Band Council to be engaged in disorderly conduct on the reserve, committing a nuisance on the reserve or violating a ban declared by the Band through their council shall be subject on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand ($1000.00) dollars; do imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days; or both. approval and passed at a July Convened meeting of the Lac La Hache of the Dene Nation This ______________ day of ____________ 1987.
