The Council o f the Moose Factory Band of Indians at a meeting held on /Cj( , 1965, makes the following by-law pursuant to paragraphs (c), (d), (q) and (r) o f section 80 of the Indian Act* By-law No* 1 A by-law to provide for the regulation o f the a c t iv it ie s of boys and g ir ls on the Moose Factory Indian Reserve No* 68 actu a lly or apparently under 16 years o f age* (a) No boy or g i r l on the Moose Factory Indian Reserve a ctu a lly or apparently 16 years o f age shall lo ite r any place within the said Indian Reserve a fte r ten o*clock in the afternoon during the months o f the year from May 1s t to October 31s t in clu sive, or a fte r the hour of nine o*clock in the afternoon during the months of November 1s t to A pril 30th inclusive* (b) No boy or g ir l on the Moose Factory Indian Reserve a ctu a lly or apparently under 16 years o f age shall be in any place o f entertainment, stre e t, lane, by-way or common within the said Reserve or shal 1 be in the course o f returning from any place of amusement o f f the said Reserve after the hour of ten o*clock in the afternoon during the months o f the year from May 1s t to October 31st in clu sive, or a fte r the hour o f nine o*clock in the afternoon during the months of November 1st to A pril 30th in clu sive, -unless accompanied with his or her parent or an adult appointed by a person to accompany such child* (c) A boy or g i r l on the Moose Factory Indian Reserve found vio la tin g the provisions o f paragraphs (a) and (b) may be warned and conducted home by a constable or peace officer* • • • 2
- 2 -(d) Notwithstanding paragraphs (a) and (b) no offence i s committed i f a boy or g i r l on the Moose Factory Indian Reserve, actu ally or apparently under 16 years of age, i s proceeding unaccompanied d ir e c tly to or returning unaccompanied d ire ctly from a place where supervised a c tiv it ie s by an adult are being carried out on Friday or Saturday afte r the hour o f ten p*clock in the afternoon provided th at the constable or peace o ffic e r has been n otified by the supervising adult of the time and place o f such a c tiv ity . (e) A parent who permits h is child to vio late paragraphs (a ), (b), and (d) shall be g u ilty of an offence and shall be lia b le on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $5*00 or imprisonment not exceeding seven days, or to both fin e and imprisonment. ,//. / .....
