WHITEFISH RIVER BAND NO. 4 BY-LAW NO. 1 DOG BY-LAW Being a By-Law to regulate the keeping and control of dogs on Whitefish River; the licensing and restraint of dogs; the guarantining and destruction in certain instances. 1. Appoint'a Dog Regulation Officer - Richard Jacko. 2. Female dogs are to be spayed at owners expense. 3. An animal license fee of $2.00 shall be charged for the registration of the first male dog and $3.00 for the first female dog with $4.00 for the 1st unspayed female. A license fee of $4.00 shall be charged for each additional male dogs and $6.00 for each additional unspayed female. Senior citizens are to be charged a reduced rate of $1.00 for males and $2.00 for spayed females. 4. All dogs must have distemper and rabies shots every two years and proof of such immunization records presented to Dog Regulation Officer to be recorded in the Register. 5. All dogs are to be properly cared and fed. 6. All dogs found at large and not claimed within a 3 day period shall be destroyed by the Dog Regulation Officer. 7. The Dog Regulation Officer shall be informed of any dogs who are no longer on the reserve. To inform the Dog Regulation Officer shall be the responsibility of the owner. 8. Records of dogs who have been known to have bitten people to be kept on file at the Band Office and dogs who continually bite people outside of the owners yard shall be destroyed.
