HIAWATHA INDIAN RESERVE BY-LAW NUMBER 11 Being a by-law respecting the construction, additions and N r o e . p ai 3 r 6. of dwellings and buildings on the Hiawatha Indian Reserve Whereas paragraphs (L) and (R) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council to make by-laws respecting the regulation of construction of buildings and the imposition of a fine for violation of any by-law made under that section; And whereas it is deemed necessary to control buildings, including leased areas as of the date this by-law comes into effect. 1. Now therefore the Council of the Hiawatha Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following; (a) No construction of any new buildings, or no new additions to existing buildings, may be made on the Reserve, without first receiving a permit from the Administrator of our Band. (b) The Council of our Band to establish building per mit fees by Band Council resolution which may be amended at anytime by Band Council resolution and these fees to be collected by the Band Administrator before a permit will be issued. (c) Band Members must also obtain a permit, but a fee will not be attached. 2. Any persons who violates this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred ($100.00) dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days or both fine and imprisonment. 3.
