xiie Council of the Skiderate Band of Indians at a meeting held this 30th day of March, 19^5, makes the following by-law pursuant to paragraphs (a)(ii), (e) and (f) of subsection (l) and subsection (2) of section 82 of the Indian Act. By-law No. 2 A by-law to provide for the raising of money to defray the cost of Band projects. 1. In this by-law, (a) •'Band11 means the Skidegate Band of Indians; (b ) ‘'Council11 means the Council of the Band; (c) "occupant" means any Band member ordinarily resident on the Reserve who has reached the full age of 21 years, or although under 21 years, is a wage earner and not attending school; (d) "Reserve" means the Skidegate Indian Reserve Ko. 1; (e ) "Secretary of the Council" means the person appointed by the Council of the Band for the purposes of this by-law; and (f) "Band projects" means ana includes the wages of band employees, and any7 other projects designated as such by the Council. 2 The cost of Band projects shall be defrayed by an assessment to be levied uport all occupants. 3. The Council not later than the 31st day of March in each year, shall prepare an estimate of the amount of money required to defray the cost of Band projects for the twelve month period following this date. U. The assessment of each occupant shall be determined by dividing the amount of money estimated pursuant to paragraph 3 by the total number of occupants. . The Secretary of the Council shall, within fifteen days after the Council has .determined the assessment of each occupant, send or give notice of such asse « ssment in the form prescribed by the Council to each occupant. f *" 6. The amount of the assessment determined pursuant to paragraph h shall be paid by each occupant to the Secretary of the Council on or before the date specified in the notice of asses S i i jlG X i "L m 7 Any occupant who fails to pay the assessment in accordance with paragraph 6 of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and the assessment or any part thereof remaining unpaid shall be recoverable on summary conviction. v n
