* Ct.-" \ ; * b The Council of the Bella Coola Band of Indians at a meeting held 9 this 23rd day of December » 1961*, maker the following by-law pursuant to paragraphs (o), (q) and (r) of section 80 of the Indian Act# By-law No# 11 A by-law to provide for the preservation, protection and management of fish and game on the Bella Coola Indian Reserve No. 1 in the Province of British Columbia# 1# In this by-law, (a) "band" means the Bella Coola Band of Indians; (b) camping permit" means a camping permit issued pursuant to this by-law; (c) "council" means the Council of the Band; (d) "fishing permit" means a fishing permit issued pursuant to this by-law; (e) "reserve" means the Bella Coola Indian Reserve No# 1; and (f) "warden" means any person appointed by the Council as a warden for the purposes of this by-law# 2# The Council may appoint any person as a warden and may cancel the appointment of any warden# 3* No person other than a member of the Band shall fish from or be in V possession of fishing equipment on the reserve except under authority of a fishing permit# U# A fishing permit may be issued by the warden to any person authorized tinder the laws of the Province of British Columbia to fish in waters contiguous to the reserve# $# A fishing permit (1) shall be valid only for the period inscribed thereon and (2) shall be subject to any fee that may be established in writing from time to time by the Council for the issuing of fishing permits# 6# The holder of a fishing permit shall be entitled to fish from the reserve by angling only# 7# The Special Fishing Regulations of the Province of British Columbia » shall apply on the reserve, 8# No person other than a member of the Band shall molest or otherwise intentionally disturb any game on the Reserve except under permission in writing of the Council#
) ! 9* No person other than a member of the Bwnfl shall camp or be in possession of camping equipment on the reserve except under authority of a camping permit* 10* A camping permit may be issued by the warden to any person and such camping permit (1) shall be valid only for the period inscribed thereon and for such places on the reserve as are designated as camping places by the Council; and (2) shall be subject to any fee that may be authorized in writing from time to time by the Council for the issuing of camping permits* 11* The warden may cancel any fishing permit or camping permit where, in the opinion of the warden, the holder of such permit has acted in a manner contrary to the best interests of the band* 12* Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ten dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven days or both fine and imprisonment* \ Chief :) -.irfcg-i,______________ /. k Ur,:,. *r->, Councillor ̂ Councillor Cc^f-C, v J,{ \ n U a f: ( J Councillor Councillor i f Councillor Councillor Councillor Councillor Councillor Councillor Councillor Councillor
