MUSQUEAM INDIAN BAND MULTIPLE SUITE BUILDINGS BY-LAW This By-law is made pursuant to Section 81(1) (g), (h), (pi (q) and (r) of the Indian Act. WHEREAS the Band Council of the Musqueam Indian Band deems it to be expedient and in the best interests of the Band to make a by-law exercising its powers under the said Section of the Indian Act with respect to mulitple suite buildings on the reserve. NOW THEREFORE the Band Council of the Musqueam Indian Band enacts as a by-law the following: Zones and Construction, Maintenance of Buildings and the carrying on of business, trade or calling in Zones____________________ 1. The reserve is hereby divided into two zones. One zone shall consist of that portion of the reserve consisting of lands owned by the Band ("Zone A") and the other zone of lands shall consist of all of the remainder of the reserve ("Zone B"). 2. No person shall construct or maintain a multiple suite building in Zone B without the written consent of the Chief and Council of the Band which consent may be given subject to conditions including conditions as to use and form of tenure of the building. 3. No person shall carry on the business, trade or calling of landlord with respect to a multiple suite building located in Zone B without the written consent of the Chief and Council of the Band which consent may be given subject to conditions including conditions as to the terms of proposed leases to be used in letting the building. Use of Building 4. No building located on Zone B shall be used as a multiple suite building without the written consent of the Chief and Council of the Band which consent may be given subject to conditions including conditions as the form of tenure of the building and the terms of proposed leases to be used in letting the building.
r. Residence 5. No person shall reside in a multiple suite building located in Zone B without the written consent of the Chief and Council of the Band which consent may be given subject to conditions including conditions as to the form of tenure of the building and the terms of proposed leases to be used in letting the building. Definition 6. "Multiple Suite Building" means a building or housing development containing more than one suite, unit or townhouse. I Penalty 7. ANYONE who violates any provision of this By­ law shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) or imprisonment for a term of not exceeeding thirty (30) days or both. Severance 8.
