PORT SIMPSON BAND OF INDIANS BY-LAW NO. 1981-X A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 1981-1 WHEREAS Order-in-Council P.C. 1955-672 dated 12th May, 1955, empowers the Council of the Port Simpson Band of Indians to make by-laws for any or all of the purposes set out in Section 83 of the Indian Act; and WHEREAS paragraphs (c) and (g) of Section 83(1) of the Indian Act empower the Council of the Band to make b t y he la C w o s u nc a i p l p oi a n n t d i n a g n y of m f a i t c t i e a r l s a ri to the exercise of the said power; and WHEREAS the Council of the Port Simpson Band of Indian did enact By-law No. 1981-1 dated 17th February, 1981, respecting the establishment and regulation of the Lach Goo Alams Recreation Commission; and WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to enact a by-law to amend By-law No. 1981-1; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE PORT SIMPSON BAND OF INDIANS ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Paragraph 1.01 of By-law No. 1981-1 is hereby amended to delete the words "Lach Goo Alams" and insert in place of those words the words "Lax Kw'alaams", so that paragraph 1.01 shall now read: 'ThTs By-law may be cited as "Lax Kw'alaams Recreation Commission By-law No. 1981-1"'. “ 2. Paragraph 2.01(c) of By-law No. 1981-1 is hereby amended o t f o d t e h l o e s t e e wo t r h d e s wo t r h d e s wo " r L d a s c h 2.01(c) shall now read: '"Commission" means the Lax Kw'alaams Recreation Commission and includes the Chairman'. 3. Paragraph 2.01(h) of By-law No. 1981-1 is hereby amended to delete the words "Lach Goo Alams" and insert in place of those words the words "Laz Kw'alaams', so that paragraph 2.01(h) shall now read: "'Recreation Centre" means the Lax Kw'alaams Recreation Centre'. 5. Paragraph 3.01 of By-law No. 1981-1 is hereby amended to delete the words "Lach Goo Alams" and insert in place of those words the words "Lax Kw'alaams", so that paragraph 3.01 shall now read: "A Recreation Commission is hereby established under the authority of the Council of the Port Simpson Indian Band to be known as the Lax Kw'alaams Recreation Commission".
