/ r X CAMPBELL RIVER DISTRICT NIMPKISH BAND BYLAWS The Council of the Nimpkish Band of Indians at a meeting held <9-̂ Oc'Xok^Y) # 1982 makes the following By-law pursuant to paragraph (d) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act. By-law No.24 A by-law to provide the control and regulation of excessive noise within the boundaries of the Nimpkish Reserve No.l and No.lA. 1. No person shall make any loud or objectionable noises or sounds in or on or at any street or public place within the boundaries of the Nimpkish Reserve or in or on any area or place used by or available to the general public within the reserve which disturbs or tends to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of the neighborhood or of persons in the vicinity. 2. Without in any way limiting the generality of the preceeding section the following are specifically prohibited and no person shall: (a) Play or use any musical instrument, mechanical toy, model airplane or other device of any kind whatsoever in such a manner as to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of the neighborhood or of persons in the vicinity. (b) Keep or allow any animal, bird or fowl in his or her care or custody to cause a noise which shall disturb or tend to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment or comfort of the neighborhood or of persons in the vicinity. (c) Shout or make any noise in or at or on any street or public place which disturbs or tends to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of any dwelling or residence. (d) Sound any automobile horn or other similar automotive device in such a way as to disturb or tend to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience or persons in the vicnity between the hours of 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. 3. Where an offence against this by-law has been committed, the offender is liable to a penalty of not more than $100.00 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or both.
