THE ISEUT BAUD 0? BJDIAîTS O f - 7 5'- ; i By-lav k~7b Being a by-law to provide for the regulation of the use of publie veils, cisterns, reservoirs and ether vater supplies. YHEBEAS Paragraphs (l) and (r) of Section 8l of the Indian Act empower the council of a hand to make by-laws respecting the regulation of water supplies and the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof; AND VJHEHEA3 it is deemed to be expedient to regulate the use of public water supplies for the safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the ETuachon Lake I. B. #1; HOW THEHSPOBS the Council of the Iskut Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following: 1. No person ah all wilfully or maliciously pollute any public well, cistern, reservoir or other water supply within the Kluaehon Lake Indian Reserve #1, in the Province of British Columbia. 2. No person shall destroy or injure any public well, cistern, reservoir or other water supply within the reserve. 3. The holder of a certificate of possession or occupant of land within the reserve shall keep any well thereon properly enclosed or covered. 2}.. Ho person shall deposit into or on the ice of or on the shores of any waters lying within the reserve any night-soil, garbage, manure, offal, dead eni mal matter, decaying vegetable matter or any substance or substances which in arty way contaminate such waters and tend to make the waters therefrom unfit for human consumption. 3. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and aha.11 be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven day3, or both fine and imprisonment.
