/ THE BELLA BELLA BANÜ COUNCIL BY-LAWS / \ By-Law no. 14.76 Being a by-law to amend by-lav/ no. 5 to regulate the time or times during each day during which children shall not be on the streets without proper guardianship, and the -ge or apparent age under which they shall be required to be in the ir homes at the hour appointed. WHEREAS paragraph ( c ) , ( d ) , (q ) , and ( r ) , o f sect ion 81 o f the Indian Act empower the Council o f a Band to make by-laws respecting the observances o f Law and Order, the prevention o f d iso rde r ly conduct, and the imposition o f a penalty fo r the v i o l a t i o n thereo f : AND WHEREAS i t is deemed expedient to regulate the a c t i v i t i e s o f the children fo r the general we l fa re o f the inhabitants o f the Bel la Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve. AND WHEREAS the Council o f the Bella Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve deem i t des irable to amend by-law no. 5. NOW THEREFORE the Council o f the Bella Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve enacts as a by-law thereo f the f o l low ing : 1. In th is by - lay , ' i ) ’'COUNCIL" means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act, o f the Bella Bella Band o f Indians. (b ) "RESERVE" means the t r a c t o f land set apart by Her Majesty within the d e f in i t ion o f the Indian Act, f o r the use and benef i t o f the Bella Bella Band Of Indians known as Be l la Be l la no. 1 Indian Reserve. ( c ) "CHILD" means any boy or g i r l actual ly or apparently under sixteen (16) years o f age. (d ) "MIGHT" means the d a i l y period of time from nine o 'c lock in the afternoon to s ix o ' c l o c k in the morning during the months o f September through June inc lus ive ; and the d a i l y period o f time from ten - th ir ty in the afternoon to s ix o 'c lock in the morning during the months o f July and August. 2. No boy or g i r l on the Bel la Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve actually or apparently under s ix teen (16) years o f age, shall l o i t e r any place within Bella Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve a f t e r nine o 'c lo ck in the afternoon. Mo boy or g i r l on the Bel la Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve actual ly or apparently under s ix teen (16) years o f age, shal l-be in any place o f entertainment, s t r e e t , # lane, by-way or common within the said reserve a f t e r the hour of nine o 'c lock in the afternoon o f Sundays to Thursday inc lus ive and a f t e r the hour o f t e n - t h i r t y in the afternoon o f Fridays, Saturdays and days preceeding holidays, unless accompanied by his or her parent or an adult appointed by a parent to accompany such child. 4. A boy or g i r l on the Bel la Bella no. 1 Indian Reserve found v io la t in g the provisions o f paragraph (2) or (3 ) may be warned (3 times) and conducted home by a pol ice o f f i c e r , and i f the warning is not regarded or a f t e r the warning the boy or g i r l is again found disobeying said paragraph (2) or (3) the parents or guardian o f such boy or g i r l w i l l be warned and served a notice o f warning a f t e r a th ird o f fense o f his ch i ld . 5.
