Being a by-law to regulate the discharge of firearms. ¥EEBEÂS paragraphs (c ), (d ) and ( r ) o f Section 81 of the Indian Act empower the Council o f a band to make by-laws respecting law and order nr>a the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof;. AUD WHSRTAS i t is deemed to be espedient to limit the discharge of firearms on the reserve fo r the safety and welfare o f the inhabitants of the k^-nof^'n X>2uCe I» H» jrlj NOW TtlEHSPOHS the Council of the I shut Band of Indians enacts as a by-law thereof the following: 1. In this by-law, (a ) "Firearms'’ means r if le s , guns, spring guns, a ir guns, revolvers sling shots pistols or any device designed to propel any object or misais in a manner si m iliar to the method used in r if le s or shotguns, revolvers, s lin g pisto ls, spring guns or a ir guns of any kind or make. 2. I t shall be unlawful for any person to discharge firearms of any kind or caliber within the Unachon Lake I . R. $1 except as hereinafter provided. 3. Hot withstanding clause 2 of this by-law, parsons duly authorised to destroy predatory animals or perform any other lawful duty, may obtain a permit fo r the use o f firearms with the ELuachon lake I . H. #1 boundaries from the band council. I4., Any person who violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence, and shall be lia b le on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
