The C ouncil o f the Ahou s a h t Band o f Indians at a m eeting held J a n u a r y 1 5 9 1965______________________________ m akes the fo l low in g bylaw pursuant to paragrap h (a) and (r) o f s e c t io n 80 o f The Indian, A c t . .bylaw No . A bylaw to p rov id e fo r the d isp o s a l o f garbage and w aste on the Marktosis No* 15 Indian R e s e r v e , in the P r o v in c e of-British Columbia (a) No p e r s o n shall a ccu m u la te o r p e rm it to be a ccu m u la ted upon lands in his p o s s e s s io n or d ep osit or a ccu m u late on the lands in p o s s e s s io n o f another p e r s o n anything which is or m ay b e c o m e o f fe n s iv e or in ju riou s to health . (b) No p e r s o n shall d ep os it any dead a n im a l, o f fa l , f i s h , m a n u re , g a rb a g e , f ru it , v e g e ta b le s , n ig h t -s o i l , f i lth , liqu id w a s te , o r a n y thing o f a nature which is or m ay b e c o m e o f fe n s iv e o r p r e ju d ic ia l to health upon or into any h ighw ay, s t r e e t , r o a d , a l le y , la n e , lo t , d itch , w h a rf , d o ck , la k e , pond, r i v e r , s t r e a m , w e l l , o r s e w e r , o r into any land o r p r e m is e s within the r e s e r v e and any such d e p o s it shall be d eem ed a n u isa n ce , p r o v id e d , h o w e v e r , that the p r o v is io n s o f this paragraph shall not apply to the d ep os it and p r o p e r d isp o s a l o f any such m a te r ia l into or at a p la ce within the r e s e r v e ap p roved by the co u n c i l fo r that p u r p o se . (c) The co u n c i l m ay a rra n g e fo r the reg u la r r e m o v a l o f garbage and w aste f r o m any p r e m is e s within the r e s e r v e . (d) In the spring o f each y ea r as soon as the m elt ing o f snow p e r m its the p e r s o n in p o s s e s s io n o f any p r e m is e s within the r e s e r v e shall c o l le c t a ll w aste m atter lying thereon including tin c a n s , b o t t le s , paper and an im al m a n u re . (e) A l l such w aste m atter shall be d isp o s e d o f in such a m anner as w ill p reven t any nuisance or o f fe n ce as the fouling o f w ells and w ater s u p p ly .
