* JL A 1 V I U i i j T V M * Tj'r Council o£ the Buffalo Point Band Members at a meeting held the 7 day of July*, hereby enacts bylaw No. 11-81 to provide for the regulation of boat launching-within the boundaries of Buffalo Point Reserve. Whereas, paragraphs (c), (d) and (r) of Section 81 of the Indian Act empowers the Council of a Band to make bylaws respecting the observance of law and order, the prevention of disorderly conduct and the imposition of a penalty for the violation thereof, and, Whereas, it is deemed to maintain law and order for the benefit and well being of the inhabitants of Buffalo Point Reserve. No therefore, the Council of the Buffalo Point Band Members enacts as a bylaw thereof, the following: 1. In this bylaw, (a) "Council" means the Council, as defined in the Indian Act of the Buffalo Point Band Members; (b) "Reserve" means the tract of land set apart by Her Majesty within; the definition of the Indian Act, for the use and benefit of the Buffalo Point Band Members known as the Buffalo Point Reserve. (c) "Boat" means and includes a raft and every kind of craft or vessel used intended to be used or capable of use for the conveyance on or in water of one or more persons. 2. No person shall launch any boat from the Reserve except in those areas designated by the Council. 3. No person shall dock, moor, or otherwise lease any boat on the Reserve for more than twenty-four consecutive hours except in areas designated by the Council for the docking or mooring of boats. 4. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this bylaw shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a summary conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
