o A\ f / / "7 3 - 3 o /y -7 3 POUNDMAKER BAND COUNCIL B Y - LAV/ The Council of the Poundmaker Band of Indians at a meeting held on Poundrcaker Reserve makes the following by-law made under Section 81, subsections (d), (g), (j) and (q) of the Indian Act. BY-LAW No. 2A By-law No. 2 dated January 10, 1971 and By-law No. 3 dated May 23, 1972, be and the same are hereby repealed. A By-law to control the burning of grass, weeds, and other rubbish on the Poundamker Indian Reserve . (a) No fire shall be started in the open without permission in writing first having been obtained from the Band except for small camp fires or small rubbish fires provided a person over the age of fourteen (1U) years is in attendance at all times. (b) Before rubbish or trash or camp fires are burned, a strip of at least three (3) feet wide shall be cleared of all long grass and weeds around the burning area. (c) ' Before any fire for which written permission is required from the Band shall be lit, fire extinguishers, pails of water, pumps and hoses, or some other satisfactory means of controlling and extinguishing the fire shall be readily available, and three (3) persons over fourteen (lij.) years of age shall be in attendance at all times. (d) No fire shall be started when there is a high wind blowing. (e) No person shall start a fire which shall be objectionable to the occupants of nearby residences or to the public in general. (f) No person shall leave a fire until it is completely extinguished. (g) Mo burning of large areas of grass or weeds shall be permitted except under the direct supervision of the Band Council or a person appointed for such purpose by the Council. (h) Any person violating this by-law shall be subject on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days or both fine and imprisonment.
