-r* The Amalgamated Council of the Saddle Lake Band of Indians at a meeting held this 2nd day of i-!ay_____, 1962, makes the following by-law pursuant to paragraph .(b) and paragraph (r) of Section 0 of the Indian Act. By-Law No. 1; A by-law to provide for the regulation of traffic in the Saddle Lake Indian Reserve No. 125* Cache Lake Indian Reserve No. 12£a, and Uhitefish Lake Indian Reserve No. 128 in the Province of Alberta. 1. In this by-law ^ (a) "By-Law No. 1" means a by-law made by the Council of the Saddle Lake Band of Indians on March 5* 1953 to provide for the regulation of traffic in the Saddle Lake and Goodfish Lake Indian Reserves in the Province of Alberta; (b) "closed road" means any road on the Reserves or any part of any road on the Reserves designated in writing by the Council as a closed road for the purposes of this by-law; (c) "Council" means the Amalgamated Council of the Saddle Lake Band of Indians; (d) "improved road" means any road in the Reserves designated in writing by the Council as an improved road for the purposes of this by-law; (e) "Reserves" means Saddle Lake Indian Reserve No. 125, Cache Lake Indian Reserve No. 125a, and bhitefish Lake Indian Reserve No. 128, in the Province of Alberta; (f) "restricted class" means any class of vehicles designated in writing by the Council as a restricted class of vehicles for the purposes of this by-law; (g) "residential area" means any area in the Reserves designated in writing by the Council as a residential area for the purposes of this by-law; (h) "school zone" means any zone in the Reserves designated in writing by the Council as a school zone for the purposes of this by-law; and (i) ‘‘unimproved road" means any road in the Reserves designated in writing by the Council as an unimproved road for the purposes of this by-law. 2. Nith the coming into force of this by-law, By-Law No. 1 shall cease to be in force. 3. No vehicle shall be operated on any improved road at a rate of speed in excess of //- Q miles an hour. It. No vehicle shall be operated on any unimproved road at a rate of speed in excess of 9 miles an hour. 5. No vehicle shall be operated over any bridge within the Reserves at a rate of speed in excess of the speed designated and marked thereon by the Council. 2
1 / - 2 -6* Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 3> U> and % of this by-law (a) Ho vehicle shall be operated within any residential area at a rate of speed in excess of Lin miles an hour» / (b) Ho vehicle shall be operated within any school zone at a rate of speed in excess of 2- O ailes an hour, and (c) Ho vehicle of any restricted class shall be operated on any road or any bridge within the Reserves at a rate of speed in excess of the rate of speed designated and narked by the Council on such road or bridge for such restricted class of vehicle* 7* Ho vehicle shall be operated on any closed road except by permission of the Council given in writing, car at the direction of a police officer* 8* Any person tAio violates any of the provisions of this by-law shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding §100*00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty days, or both fine and imprisonment.
